Adding bone broth to your dog's diet helps to replenish goodness lost during bouts of illness, keeps your dog hydrated and can assist with joint mobility and leaky gut syndrome. Bone broth will help bolster your dog's immune system, reducing inflammation and keep your dog in good health.
What benefits of bone broth can we expect when added to your dog's diet?:
-
Glucosamine & Chondroitin - Not only does bone broth contain super amazing amounts of glucosamine, it’s also packed with other joint protecting vitamins & mineral like chondroitin and hyaluronic acid.
-
Liver Detox - A dog's liver is the main organ for detoxification. The dog’s liver is constantly processing various toxins daily and its capacity to detoxify is limited by the availability of the amino acid glycine. Guess what has tons of glycine? Bone broth!
-
Healthy Gut - The lining of your dog's intestines contains millions of microscopic holes that allow the passage of digested nutrients to enter the body. Stress, poor diet and bacterial overgrowth can cause more holes to open or to become bigger…this is called leaky gut syndrome.
The problem with excess or bigger holes in the intestine is that things can pass through that aren’t meant to, including undigested food matter, toxins and yeast. The body will consider these undigested particles as invaders and start to attack them. This is how allergies and food sensitivities develop. Bone broth is loaded with a gooey substance that can plug up those leaky holes: gelatin!
-
Easy to Digest - If your dog has suffered with an upset tummy and is refusing to eat. Or if your dog is convalescing and doesn’t have a great appetite - Bone broth is an excellent source of important minerals and can bolster the immune system (think chicken soup) whilst offering hydration to your dog! Bone broth is also loaded with glycine, which aids digestion by helping to regulate the synthesis of bile salts and secretion of gastric acid.
Bone broth feeding instructions
Keep the portion size small. Add one or two tablespoons of bone broth to your dog's normal meals at first. If your dog seems to like it, you can add a bit more. But too much of any new food can upset your dog's digestive system, so only give your dog a few tablespoons of bone broth per day.
